NordVPN Price in 2026: Every Plan and Term Compared
NordVPN costs $14.99 a month if you pay monthly, or from $3.49 a month on a two-year Basic plan. That is a difference of more than four times for identical VPN access — the term length you pick matters far more than the tier you pick.
Here is every tier across every billing term, and an honest read on which extras are worth paying for.
NordVPN price at a glance
| Plan | Monthly billing | 1-year term | 2-year term |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $14.99 / month | $5.49 / month | $3.49 / month |
| Complete | $19.99 / month | $6.49 / month | $4.49 / month |
| Prime | — | — | $7.49 / month |
Basic is the VPN itself. Complete layers on Nord's wider security suite, and Prime sits above both. For most people looking purely for a VPN, Basic on a two-year term at $3.49 a month is the plan that matters.
Prices are NordVPN's published US rates in USD and reflect promotional terms that change frequently.
The term length is the real decision
Monthly Basic is $14.99. The same Basic plan on a two-year term is $3.49 a month. Over 24 months that is roughly $360 against roughly $84 — a gap of about $276 for exactly the same service.
The one-year term at $5.49 sits in between, and is the sensible middle ground if committing to two years feels like too long a bet on a single provider.
Watch the renewal. VPN pricing is built around long-term deals, so the headline figure is almost always an introductory rate. Check what the plan renews at before you commit — that is where the real cost sits. NordVPN includes a 30-day money-back guarantee, which is the practical way to test it without risk.
Basic, Complete or Prime?
Basic
You want a VPN and nothing else. At $3.49 a month on two years this is the plan the vast majority of buyers should be on.
Complete
You would otherwise pay separately for password management and encrypted storage. At $4.49 on two years the $1 gap is fair — if you will actually use the extras.
Prime
At $7.49 on a two-year term this is more than double Basic. Only worth it if you specifically need what sits on top, rather than buying it as a general upgrade.
The common mistake is buying a higher tier for features that duplicate something you already pay for. Check what your password manager, cloud storage and antivirus already cover before upgrading.
Cheaper ways to buy NordVPN
Take the longest term you are comfortable with. The two-year Basic plan is roughly a quarter of the monthly rate. Nothing else on this page saves anywhere near as much.
Do not pay up a tier for extras you own. Complete and Prime bundle tools many people already subscribe to separately. Audit before upgrading.
Use the 30-day guarantee. Buy the long term, test it properly, and claim the refund if it does not work for your streaming or your connection speed.
